We're huge fans of Gail's bakery in Hampstead. They produce scrumptious old fashioned bread which is entirely free of chemicals and additives and tastes as good as the bread that comes out of the best French boulangeries ( if not better!). My favourite is the malted brown bloomer but am not averse to munching on the poppy seed loaf! I think there are several branches across London ( there is one in Notting Hill and another in St John's Wood).
