Royal Academy Summer Exhibition

We braved the sweltering heat on the London underground yesterday and tubed it down to Piccadilly Circus to see the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy. It was gloriously cool and air conditioned in the galleries and we spent ages studying the paintings, sculptures, photos and videos. I particularly loved Donald Hamilton Fraser's large oil paintings and Chris Orr's limited edition prints.

Anita Klein at the Marine House Gallery in Beer

We were in sunny Devon over the weekend and popped into the Marine House Gallery in Beer, where to our great delight, there was a show of Anita Klein's paintings and etchings. Darling Clementine Cards for 1973

Sooo excited this morning as we have just received our delivery of the brand new Darling Clementine designs for 1973. Our hands were trembling with anticipation as we unwrapped the packs of gorgeous greeting cards featuring adorable retro ilustrations. There were many ohs and ahs of approval as we lined up the cards on our desks and squabbled over our favourites.

We have just added these gorgeous notecard sets to the shop and they are officially our new favourite notecards. The two designs were taken from the textile archive of the Williamsburg Museum and the one with a black background features tiny flecks of gold- so pretty. National Gallery Cafe

We are huge fans of the National Gallery Cafe and were delighted with the beautiful sandwiches and cakes we tucked into last Saturday. The catering is by Peyton and Byrne and they certainly know how to make a tasty snack and a mighty fine cup of tea.
