Lovely new designs from Gwendolen Studios

We have just received these lovely new greeting cards and notebooks designed by Anna Wilman of Gwendolen Studios. The notebooks were produced in the UK using FSC certified recycled paper. They are now available from our shop.

Nicholas Hely Hutchinson Prints

We stock several gorgeous greeting cards which are based on paintings by Dorset-based artist Nicholas Hely Hutchinson so we were thrilled to discover that the Portland Gallery is currently selling two of his limited edition prints. The Bluebell Wood is my favourite.

Just discovered Marlene's Market, a lovely shop on Etsy and really like their gorgeous prints.

We were browsing Etsy yesterday and stumbled upon a magical little store called The Light Garden which is run from Istanbul (how exotic!) by an Australian artist called Verity Kizek. We've really fallen for her adorable prints.

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society

I have just finished this moving and uplifting novel by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows and would say hand on heart, that it is the most wonderful book I have read this year. Have you read it too?

The Swallows have gone

We were rather sad to discover that our band of merry swallows that spent most of the summer swooping outside the office window has now departed and must be heading south to sunnier skies.

A Delightful Sunday Lunch

Yesterday, we spent the day near Bath in Somerset and had a wonderful lunch in the idyllic gardens of the Wheatsheaf pub in Combe Hay. Made a most welcome change from sultry central London.

Hannah Cole Show in Bath

Hannah Cole is a young artist who designed Breezy Day, one of our favourite greeting cards. She's currently exhibiting new work at the Rostra and Rooksmoor gallery in Bath ( until 26th August I think)

Mmmm Chocolate Buttons

This is the rather glitzy pack of Prestat chocolate buttons which I bought for a special friend yesterday. I was so tempted to rip open the packet and gobble up those buttons but had to steel myself and popped them in the post for her.

We are huge fans of the Elphicks online shop which sells fabulous prints. Just noticed these lovely prints by an artist called James Brown.

A lovely find

I found this gorgeous card while wandering around Oxford on Saturday and I think it's the sweetest design I have come across in ages! Am off to find out more about the company that produces these lovely cards.

Brambly Hedge Autumn Story

One of my neighbours has a really delightful garden which is satisfyingly overgrown and mysterious, and almost hidden from view behind a Victorian red brick wall. As I stopped and peered over the wall yesterday at the japanese anemones, rosehips and juicy blackberries growing along the fence, I was suddenly reminded of Brambly Hedge, one of my favourite childhood books.
